Kingwood Area Democrats (KAD) President Ellie Porras participated in reading the bios of the children and teachers murdered in Uvalde. She spoke to us about the failure of the Texas Legislature in about every aspect of governance.
KAD President Ellie Porras has some choice words for TX LEGE
I started the interview with a joke and was summarily corrected. Ellie made it clear that even though Democrats are not a majority in Kingwood, Texas, a very conservative suburb of Houston, Texas, there are a lot of Democrats here. She said that at least 33% of the town is Democratic.
Ellie was participating in the memorial for those who were murdered at Robb Elementary in Uvalde. I used the opportunity to ask her a few questions about the fiasco in Austin, the 2023 legislative session that is doing more harm than good. She had much to say-
