Texas Democratic Candidate for Governor Beto O’Rourke didn’t mince words. He continues to point out the failures of Gov. Greg Abbott and the changes he intends to make to support his fellow Texans.
Beto O’Rourke: GO VOTE NOW!
Today, I caught up with the Texas Democratic Candidate for Governor, Beto O’Rourke. The former Congressman has been all over this large state non-stop. He would likely give James Brown, the hardest-working man in show business, a run for the title but for politics.
Beto was leaving Missouri City in Fort Bend County, heading to Corpus Christi, a rather long drive. He is shoring up his base in counties like Fort Bend, Harris, Dallas, Travis, Bexar, El Paso, and Nueces while still getting his message to rural Texas. After all, it is the policies he supports that will reopen those closed rural hospitals, saving the lives of thousands who lack care or cannot get to emergency rooms in the timely manner necessary to save their lives when critical care from accidents and other medical emergencies occur.
After watching some of the morning news shows, I got pretty annoyed. These guys continue to promote Republican talking points. Unfortunately, the negative tonality can affect the vote. Why would anyone vote if they believe the election is already baked? As inaccurate as the polls have been, they show the election is at a tipping point. But the pundits continue to push gloom for too many Democrats. When they became somewhat dismissive of the Texas governor’s race, I contacted the Beto campaign for an interview to allow him another medium to talk to Texans. Independent media must be there to mitigate biased mainstream media. Beto did not disappoint. The interview is above, and I will play it, as well, at noon tomorrow on Politics Done Right on News to Know on KPFT 90.1 FM Houston at noon on Monday. I will be taking calls (713–526–5738) for anyone who wants to discuss the 2022 midterms.
Beto stayed on message. It is the narrative all Texans need to hear. The significant issues he highlighted were,
- World-Class Schools
- High-Paying Jobs
- Affordable Health Care
- Small Business
- Power Grid & Energy Bills
- Property Taxes
- Border & Immigration
- Reproductive Freedom
- LGBTQ+ Rights
- Rural Investment
- Freedom to Vote
- Energy & Environment
- Gun Safety
- Marijuana Legalization
- Disability Rights
- Public Safety & Criminal Justice
- Serving Our Veterans
Listen to the entire interview. Please share it. But most importantly, go vote as if your life depends on it because it does. And remember to tell all your friends to go vote. Your vote is between you, the machine, and your god. So vote for what is in your best interest, the interest of Texas, and the interest of the country.
