KPFT 90.1 FM aired the Beto O’Rourke v. Greg Abbott debate live. One hour before the debate, the radio station had a call-in program to have the community participate in an open dialogue with Akua Holt, host of Pan African Journal, and Egberto Willies, host of Politics Done Right. The callers were expressive from every ideological viewpoint.
The polls for the Texas governor’s race is fairly close though Abbott has a 7 point lead based on current polling, The reality is that pollsters model are likely inaccurate right now given the recent abortion ruling. Since then women have been registering to vote in droves and likely-voter models are probably wrong. The vote in Kansas is probative. The polls show a slight lead for the anti-choice position. The pro-choice position won by over 19 points. Again, polls right now means nothing as it likely undercuts the progressive positions. This race is likely tied and the ground game will determine the outcome.
