I really had fun talking to the host of The Rick Smith Show. He gets it. He knows that working Americans are tired of listening to think tank-approved corporate news and commentary. Smith says that they want a direct, honest approach to the issues that matter, so that is what The Rick Smith Show provides. No puppets. No focus groups. No talking points.
After the first 60 seconds of listening to any of Smith’s shows, it is clear he does his show following the above-mentioned edict. Rick is no act. He is, in fact, the working class hero. He grew up in the projects where he was the minority having a small taste of what it is like. And that intimate experience of being the other enabled a level of empathy towards all.
But it is deeper for Smith. He understands the dynamics that the plutocracy uses to stay in power as they smash most. He knows that they use all the isms to divide and conquer. As we fight among ourselves, they laugh themselves to the bank. If Smith has anything to say about it, the chains will be broken.
