Activist Doctor Anand Bhat did a deep dive into the COVID disparities and found a representative study that reveals some interesting facts.
Dr. Anand Bhat explains an important study
Dr. Anand Bhat sent me a message a few days ago about a study he read. It is titled “Hospitalization and Mortality among Black Patients and White Patients with Covid-19.” The report concluded the following.
In a large cohort in Louisiana, 76.9% of the patients who were hospitalized with Covid-19 and 70.6% of those who died were black, whereas blacks comprise only 31% of the Ochsner Health population. Black race was not associated with higher in-hospital mortality than white race, after adjustment for differences in sociodemographic and clinical characteristics on admission.
It was a rather extensive report. It seemed to go against the prevailing narrative so I asked Dr. Bhat to explain the study and results on Politics Done Right.
He did a great job explaining all the intricacies of the study. Most importantly he gave examples that using non-medical terms that the non-medical person can understand.
