Our economic system is based on two false tenets that cause us to tolerate overpaid executives & shareholders and overpriced products to create large profits for the investor and business class. The first is that we are inherently greedy. The second is that we must tolerate high prices and obscene profits because our greed stokes innovation. If that were true, it would be the executives innovating or the engineers, scientists, technicians, doctors, and developers who actually innovate, commanding the bulk of the income. Think about that. Innovation does not come from executives and shareholders.
