- Professor Reich was President Clinton’s Secretary of labor between 1993 and 1997. He is now the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley. He has written thirteen books, including The Work of Nations, Locked in the Cabinet, Supercapitalism, and of course, his impressive book, Aftershock, which we will discuss in this interview. His “Marketplace” commentaries can be found on publicradio.com and iTunes. He is also Common Cause’s board chairman.
- Bernie Sanders praises Biden’s economy as he scolded the media for failed working-class coverage: Sen. Bernie Sanders did not mince his words as he scolded the media for their poor coverage of the plight of the working class, even as he praised the relatively good economy.
- Texas woman donates one of her kidneys to a stranger, a story with so many angles to explore: This story is fundamentally human. One could take so many angles with a woman donating one of her kidneys, especially in these polarized times.
- MSNBC’s Ali Velshi’s guest on inflation: Capitalists will be capitalists. It may be time, however, to be less deferential to corporations and the damage they affect on average Americans.
