Democratic Candidate for Judge Juanita Jackson dispels the lies about the bail bond actions by Democratic judges from Republican candidates running for their positions. These types of lies should disqualify judge candidates from serving.
Juanita Jackson dispels the bail bond lies.
Republicans have been attacking Harris County Democratic Judges with false attacks. They accused them of releasing criminals on lenient bail requirements claiming many then committed violent crimes. I have been asking various judges to defend themselves and dispel the lies. I found out today definitively from Ms. Jackson why they were quiet. They follow the judicial ethics rule they are bound by in Texas.
Sadly, the inability to address false attacks put Harris County, Texas, Democratic judges at a disadvantage. Juanita Jackson is not yet a judge, so she is free, to tell the truth. Juanita will be in our KPFT 90.1 FM Houston studio on Wednesday at noon to discuss bail bond lies. In our short interview, Ms. Jackson clarified that the Judges are following the law.
Republicans govern the state of Texas and create the laws. And it is the responsibility of the district attorney to provide evidence to hold those who they believe present a threat to society in jail. The constitution of Texas mandates judges to allow bail bonds for all but heinous crimes. But the combination of bail bond companies that loosened their substantial requirement to provide bonds, a constitution that mandates bonds, and a district attorney not providing evidence to keep the arrested locked up are responsible for those released, some of who ultimately commit crimes again.
