Journalist at the intersection of politics and race, Arturo Dominguez, did not disappoint. He discussed John Leguizamo’s colorization statement, Cuban misinformation, and more.
Arturo Dominguez speaks
I must be frank. Mr. Arturo Dominguez is one of my favorite writers. He has insight into racial issues, politics, and economics in general. Dominguez is at the intersection of where politics meet the masses. Precisely, he can discern the pain too often relegated to people of color (POC).
In this segment, Arturo Dominguez discusses several issues. He tackles John Leguizamo‘s comment that he felt was racially insensitive, especially coming from a Latino part of the racial justice movement.
“He should have known better,” Arturo told me before we went on air. “I know what it meant, but he used the wrong words at the wrong time.”
Arturo also discussed the Cuban issue. He points out the inconvenient truth those of use from the region know. Rank and file Cubans do not hate their government. Moreover, many people, specifically POC, did not hold dignified employment (doctors, lawyers, engineers) until Castro kicked out the U. S. puppet Batista. After all, the same racist degeneracy from the U. S. existed in Cuba.
