The Black Eagle, Joseph Madison (Joe Madison), intends to continue his hunger strike as the Senate goes into recess without passing a voting rights bill.
Joe Madison: The Hunger Strike Continues
I contacted Joe Madison after the Senate went to recess without passing any voting rights bill. Madison has been on a hunger strike for more than 40 days.
Madison received the message earlier as he traveled in Texas. The Senate remained derelict in its duty to pass a voting rights bill. He said that his hunger strike for the cause of democracy would continue throughout the holidays and into the Senate return on January 3rd.
Joe made a prescient comment. He said cat memes garner millions of votes on social media. Unfortunately, the voting rights issue does not garner the merited attention. He said he is very concerned that our democracy is at risk.
Madison is disappointed that the Senate would forego making an exception to the filibuster for the debt ceiling but would not for the voting rights bill.
Even in his weakened state from his hunger strike, Joe kept his commitment to a scholarship program in Texas. And he is keeping his promise to highlight the voting rights cause.
