Tamara Shealey is running in a special election Georgia senator. She is in a large field of over a dozen candidates. But she is doing her part.
Tamara Shealey on her Georgia race
Tamara talks about traveling around Georgia, meeting people, and talking about their needs. She was shocked to visit a county that had neither a grocery store nor a hospital.
As she navigates her state from urban areas to rural areas and Georgia’s backwoods areas, she continues to visit people that politicians have ignored for decades. She’s made several videos with them telling their stories.
The media has centralized on the top three candidates in the race. But that does not deter Tamara. She said she does not pay much attention to the polls. That may be a good thing because candidates ignored by the media sometimes tend to shock.
Tamara is a real Progressive fighting for Economic, Social, and Environmental Justice, an inclusive agenda. She is a Georgia native, born and raised in Chatham County with deep family roots in Effingham County, Georgia. Born to a teenage mother and no stranger to lack, she has always had a determined spirit. she has lived in DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties for more than 26 years. She built a business as a nail salon owner for 10 years and worked as a Licensed Nail Technician for 18 years.
