Professor, Economist, Dr. Richard Wolff spent some time with Politics Done Right deconstructing the real sickness that ails America which he also discussed in his new book, “The Sickness is the System: When Capitalism Fails to Save Us from Pandemics or Itself.”
Richard Wolff deconstructs America’s sickness
Dr. Wolff said he wrote the new book for several reasons. As Americans live a very restricted life, a life with economic difficulties where the wealthy continue to enrich themselves at the expense of the masses, he wanted to lay the foundation illustrating how it happened. He wanted Americans to know that the leading cause of our problem isn’t COVID-19 but Capitalism.
Later in the interview, I pointed out to the professor that I became a disciple of his after going to one of his talks titled “Capitalism hits the fan.” He displayed a productivity chart and the reaper of the spoils.
Richard D. Wolff is Professor of Economics Emeritus, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in International Affairs of the New School University, NYC. He is the founder of Democracy at Work and host of their nationally syndicated show Economic Update. His latest book is “The Sickness is the System: When Capitalism Fails to Save Us from Pandemics or Itself” and is available along with his other books Understanding Socialism and Understanding Marxism here: www.democracyatwork.info.
Please listen to the entire interview in this post. It is extremely enlightening.
