Ronald Reagan was a transformational president for all the wrong reasons. He made it vogue for Republican politicians to lie without embarrassment. It is true that all politicians at some time tend to lie. But when caught they attempt to either atone or change their behavior.
Reagan and his subsequent clones were different. They learned another concept. They learned that if one repeated a lie sufficiently, it becomes a reality for many who have the ability to defy their own intellect. That reality allowed a charlatan like Donald Trump to take hold. It allows the worst example of a human being the ability to flourish.
