Today is International Women’s Day. So I salute women. But my goal is to salute women and everyone else for what they bring to making life better for us all. I really am not a fan of these kinds of days or months. I am not a fan of Black History Month, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, or any other. Why? We should make every day one where we honor the deserving or celebrate all our histories. A multicultural living and an existence where you respect all negates the need for these celebrations, some that are just commercial endeavors.

Now that I have completely shown that I can be a prude, let’s get busy. We are in fund drive at KPFT. They’ve set a goal for me today of $900 this hour. I have a generous donor who promises to add $450.00 to KPFT’s depleted coffers if I reach the assigned goal. Today I have a special guest. She has been on before. Nisha Randle is an activist’s activist. She along with her cohort just pulled off an extraordinary event, the Black Women’s March. So, who is Nisha Randle?

Nisha Randle is a Houston activist who was part of the Texas State Coordinating team for the Women’s March on D.C.  and the Austin sister march.  She is involved in several groups locally including Pantsuit Republic Houston and Indivisible Houston where she ensures that progressive activism.

After the blog of the week, Nisha will discuss an interesting reality that is a result of what I state in the blog of the week.
