Will Conservatives liberalize?

Hurricane Harvey devastated many communities in Southeast Texas. Hurricane Irma destroyed many areas of Florida. These two disasters inflicted hundreds of billions of dollars of damage. Increased flooding, tornados, and forest fires are now frequent. Vast temperature gyrations from extreme cold to extreme heat is not the norm.

Yet, we just elected undemocratically a government that diametrically opposes the policies necessary to mitigate all of these. Conservatives don’t want to invest in renewable energy. Nor do they want to tax carbon-emitting industries consummate with the environmental damage we all ultimately pay for with every disaster or illness. What gives? It will take us connecting the dots in a manner that contrasts the lies of the Right and in a manner that everyday Americans can relate.
