The recriminations are on. Bernie Sanders purists are telling Democrats at large, ‘I told you so.’ Hillary Clinton supporters are blaming Bernie Sanders supporters for voting third party or not voting at all.
While all the Democratic recriminations are occurring, Republicans are elated as they normalize Donald Trump, the puppeteer of misogyny, sexism, racism, and xenophobia. They were given a gift by a constitutional defect that rips democracy away from the many, the second electoral theft to afflict Democrats in the last five elections.
For those who thought they stuck it to Hillary, remember a busted ego is temporary. The dismantling of the social safety net will be fatal to many including to some who stuck it to her.
But we must all look forward. It is time for us to get rid of our egos and pride and together work to protect what we can as Donald Trump and Paul Ryan attempt to implement their Ayn Rand-ian destruction of what makes America the country it was becoming ever so slowly.
